Mom was born in Regina, Saskatchewan July 26, 1942, moved to various bases in her early years with her family as an "army
brat". Mom attended high school in Winnipeg and later met the love of her life Harry. Viv and Harry married October 15, 1960 and
started their family two years later. Being the wife of someone in the agriculture business, the family moved around a lot, eventually
settling in Stonewall for 21 years, to retire in Teulon, then the last couple of years residing at Hilltop Manor in Stony Mountain.
Throughout her life she loved to practise her culinary skills baking cakes and cookies to making fresh bread and borsht.
Mom and good friend Joyce Conrad
eventually joined forces and took on a few business ventures, where they developed friendships at U of W, Claude Neon, Kinsmen Lake and Stony Mountain Curling Club.
Family was everything to mom. She was your strongest advocate in good times and during times of great challenge. We will all miss her being in our corner no matter what.
Our sincere thank you to Sharon and all staff at Stonewall Hospital and District Health Centre. You all held a very special place in mom's heart. We will never forget the care provided to her over the last couple of years. To the staff on Purple Bear GA - 4 thank you for the exceptional care provided over the last two weeks of her life. Dr. Ponnampalam and Kerry, thank you for the many years of taking care of mom - she thought so much of you. Dr. Graham and Dr. Zahiri (known to mom as Dr. Handsome) thank you for your compassion and care over the last couple of years.
A private interment is to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Stonewall Hospital Foundation.
