LAWRENCE (LAWRIE) TOMKO
Lawrie was born August 4, 1933 in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. He is survived by his beloved wife Cynthia (Marge), of 59 years; his sons, Peter and Clifford; his daughters, Laurie-Jean (Denys) and Samantha (Ross); grandchildren, Dustin, Blaine, Damon, Breanne, Brittany, Paige, Brandon, Evan; and great-grandchildren, Sienna, Ethan and Natalie.
In 1965 Lawrie moved to Arborg, Manitoba where he continued his career with the Manitoba Department of Highways and Transportation. He retired in 1993 after 40 years of service, which he was extremely proud of. Lawrie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 45 years, where he made many close friends and acquaintances.
Lawrie's family would like to thank the staff at Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre as well as the Arborg and District Health Centre. As per Lawrie's wishes, a private family service will be held in his honour.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7.
