Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Our sincere condolences on Marg's passing. Marg had a pleasant manner and an indomitable spirit. She was so easy to visit with, had a gift for making a person feel comfortable and seemed to truly enjoy people. Marg and Vic very generously included us in their Christmas Eve family celebrations when we were in Winnipeg. They were always fun and lively times. When Marg came to Victoria for nursing reunions we were so pleased that she took the time to come and have a meal and spend an evening with us. She will be thought of with love by the many whose lives she touched. Sharon and Dave Powell - Posted by: Sharon and Dave Powell (Friend) on: Oct 12, 2019

  • Marg was a close friend of my parents Edith and Gerald Strome. Our families spent a lot of time together especially when I was young. There were "dress-up" parties with the EK Lions, casual summer days at Dorothy Lake, and a lot of fun in between. Mr. and Mrs. G. shared every important occassion with us as youngsters - and as adults. Birthdays, Weddings, Anniversaries & New Babies. Fine dinning at Victor's Restaurant was fabulous, and flying fish at VG Palms in Barbados was something special too. Mr. and Mrs. G were two of the most good hearted and generous people we have known. I am so grateful to them for the genuine frienship they shared with my parents . Marg and my mother were as close as sisters, from the time they were young women. It was an honor and great pleasure knowing Marg Gouriluk. Sincere sympathy to all the Gouriluk family from the Hatch family. - Posted by: Kim (Strome) Hatch (Family Friend) on: Oct 10, 2019

  • When I was a student nurse at WGH ,Margaret was my "big sister" She was warm and welcoming and always helpful. She took me to her home in ST. Vital where I was welcomed by your grandparents. We kept in touch all these years. Cards and notes at Christmas and at those Alumni reunions. I last had a visit with your Mom at the most recent reunion in May--still a beautiful warm and caring woman.. My sympathy to all her family. - Posted by: Joanne Felstrom (WGH grad. 1954B) on: Oct 10, 2019
