ROBERTA MARLENE SOMMERVILLE
(nee DENHOLM)
1935 - 2019

Marlene, as she liked to be known, formerly of Morden, MB and latterly of Winnipeg, completed her earthly journey on Thursday, October 3, 2019.
Marlene is survived by her son Robert; granddaughter Tessa; sister Cathy Sinclair of Edmonton; and a host of relatives and friends in Canada, Scotland, New Zealand and Australia.
Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Bob Denholm; and her brother-in- law John Sinclair.
Marlene worked for many years with Transport Canada, retiring in 1995 as Superintendent, Capital Resources Program.
Retirement allowed Marlene time to travel and pursue her love of nature and birdwatching.
Robert and Cathy join in extending special thanks to Marlene's care team (Em, Carol and Liz) as well as to her medical caregivers at St. Boniface and Victoria Hospitals … you are all angels in disguise!
Flower tributes are gratefully declined. Marlene thought it fitting to contribute to any project that combats climate change or to the Winnipeg Children's Hospital.
A remembrance gathering will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., in the Ambassador Room "F" of the Canad Inn, 1824 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, MB.
