BRENDA BRAUN
(nee WILSON)
Brenda was born on February 12, 1975 in Charlottetown, PEI to Floyd and Audrey Wilson. She was known and loved by all for her many and varied talents.
The youngest of three children, Brenda was eager to keep up and as she grew, excelled in high school sports before going on to earn a degree in physical education from the University of Manitoba. Her lifetime love of sports carried on through her adult years playing volleyball, sponge hockey and ultimate frisbee.
Professionally, Brenda was a long-term employee of the Seven Oaks Hospital Wellness Centre, where she worked to inspire and coach recovering patients to improve their own personal health.
Strong and independent, she was well-known to be intensely organized and brought this to a range of projects from decorating and home renovations to camping and travel. Her desserts were legendary, well travelled and appreciated by all.
Once Brenda started her own family, this family became the center of her life. Whether it be making a comfortable home, camping or travel, and getting involved with parents at school and sports, Brenda was able to quickly forge meaningful relationships with many she met, as her many talents shone through her naturally humble and unassuming nature.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Sean Braun and her legacy lives on, kindled in their son Connor. Also left to mourn her passing are her parents, Floyd and Audrey Wilson; brother Duane Wilson and spouse Anita and nephews, Nathan, Jonah and Lucas; sister Marla Baldwin and spouse Casey; father-in-law Ernie Braun and spouse Heather; sister-in-law Heather and spouse Tim Neufeld with children Ethan, Matteus, Silas and Mika; brother-in-law Ryan Braun and spouse Martha Guy with children Nova and Maverick; along with a large extended family and a number of dear friends.
The family is extremely grateful and appreciative for all the doctors and nurses and for the exceptional and compassionate care of the palliative care nurses and home care aides who helped Brenda in her final months. A special thank you to Michael Thys and Lisa Scrivens for the specialized care that they offered.
In lieu of flowers, an act of greatness in the form of a gift to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, Manitoba Division or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

I send my very late but sincere condolences to Flloyd and family after hearing the sad news from a mutual Wpg friend. I understand the pain of losing a daughter so prematurely. I remember Brenda as a lively little preschooler. - Posted by: FRances Lovering (Friend from Charlottetown and U of M connections) on: Dec 30, 2020

Sean and Connor. It is so sad to hear of Brenda's passing. She had a smile and energy that would light up a room. I always admired her for her organization and sense of purpose. I found out today of Brenda's passing and was shocked and saddened by the news. Although I know Duane and Marla better, I did teach Brenda in grade twelve and she was a dedicated, hard working student who surprised me with her choice of UFO's on a major research project. She took it very seriously and soon had made contacts as far afield as the US government's Centre for alien beings. I should have known she would treat any subject seriously and thoroughly. My sympathies to her immediate family, her husband and son. She left a deep impression on me and I'm sure to all she met. - Posted by: Wayne Selby (Former teacher) on: Oct 29, 2019

I was very shocked and saddened to see Brenda's obituary in the paper on Saturday. I worked with Brenda in the 90's until 1999 when I left. I am so sad to see Brenda passed away due to cancer. I took it hard since I am a cancer patient myself. I don't know what type of cancer Brenda had, but I had colon cancer and still struggling 5 years later. Brenda was such a beautiful person and beautiful person to work with. Then years later I met her at Seven Oaks Wellness Center where my husband went there to do cardiac excercises and rehab. Such a small world! Lots of love and prayers go out to Sean, her husband and Connor and Brenda's siblings and the whole family. So very for your terrible loss. Rest In Peace Brenda.....you are in God's hands now. - Posted by: jean (former co-worker at bingo royale-(hemophilia society bingo)) on: Oct 22, 2019
