NINH TRAN
Ninh was born in Saigon, Vietnam on June 26, 1965 to parents, Thieu Nguyen Tran and Tu Trinh. She was an active and inquisitive child. She moved to Canada at age 16 with her parents. Ninh moved into a group home managed by Epic Opportunities in 1991. Ninh enjoyed her life with her two best friends / housemates, as well as having a good time with her numerous Epic helpers, caseworkers, and many others.
Ninh loved all sorts of sports, such as swimming, running, etc. but her favourite one was bowling, which was also her best! Ninh loved music and dancing. She enjoyed food and shopping too. Ninh had always been "lively" and "opinionated". Although Ninh had heard about Jesus and salvation, it was only about 12 to 13 years ago that she made the decision to receive Jesus as her Saviour. She was baptized by her brother Reverend Wilson Tran. She used to attend worship services at the Winnipeg Chinese Mennonite Brethren Church, the Winnipeg Chinese Alliance Church, and other churches. Ninh had enjoyed life in ways beyond suffering and pain! She had God's love, joy and peace in her heart. She even sang a wedding song in the hospital hallway just days ago before her "peaceful" departure! Ninh cared for people, praying for them, sharing with them. She had been a blessing to many!
Ninh was predeceased by her parents, Thieu and Tu, and two older siblings, Hieu and Sam. She is survived by her four brothers, Wilson, Luc, Norman and Ngu, her three sisters, Thu, Dinh and Hinh.
Ninh's siblings want to express their deepest gratitude to Epic Opportunities and their wonderful and caring staff, Health Sciences Centre's staff, especially the dialysis team and MICU team and the D2, D4, and D5 staff for their loving and professional care, the church family and all others who had been kind to our sister! You had made her life brighter!!! And to all our Christian brothers and sisters in Canada and around the world who prayed for her, although not knowing her personally, may our gracious Lord reward everyone for your labour of love.
The visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 9:00 a.m., the funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Please feel free to wear colourful clothing if you prefer. (After all, Ninh would have wanted this to be a "celebration" for her!) Reverend Luc Tran will be officiating.

I was Ninh's social worker for 13 years. I can remember the first time I met her, she politely shook my hand and then hugged me vigorously! Although, I didn't see her often, she was a delightful lady who always had a smile and a song ready to be sung. When I visited her at the hospital, she "shot me a few times" she had such a great sense of humor. While I was visiting, it had started to snow, and she had us all singing Jingle Bells. It was the last time I saw her, she was a marvel, and I was happy to have met her. She will always have a place in my heart - Posted by: Norah Warren (social worker ) on: Oct 27, 2020

She brought me much joy with her singing, goofing around shooting us. She was missed when she left Sherbrook. May she rest with the angels. My condolences to her family. Hugs ! - Posted by: Gayna (Patient 765 Sherbrook) on: Dec 05, 2019

I am saddened to hear of Ninh's passing. I worked with her from 2007-2010 and we developed a very close bond... though Ninh had a natural way of making close bonds with most people she met. I think of her often as she made a strong impact on me. She will be missed dearly. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Suzanne MacPherson (Former employee, Epic Opportunities) on: Nov 26, 2019
