HELEN IRENE CAROLINE DIACHUN
(nee MELNYCZUK)

On Friday, October 18, 2019, at the age of 80, Helen peacefully passed away at Park Manor Care Home.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Walter; her four children: Madelaine (Paul), Theresa (Todd), Stanley (Melissa) and Phillip (Amber); eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grand-child. She is predeceased by her parents, Bart and Frances Melnyczuk.
Helen was born, an only child, in Paris, France. At the age of nine she immigrated to Canada with her parents and made her home here in Winnipeg with her husband and children. There was nothing more she enjoyed than spending time with family and friends.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the nursing home for their care and compassion.
As per Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, MB with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
