SHAUN LEONARD LAMOUREUX

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shaun Leonard Lamoureux on October 20, 2019 at the age of 51.
Shaun will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his partner in life, Cindy, his two daughters, Cayley and Chelsea, his parents, Joan and Len Lamoureux, his brother Duane Lamoureux, sister-in-law Jody, niece Regan and nephew Kyle, sister-in-law Lorlie Williams-Marschall and husband John and nephew Connor.
Shaun was born on September 23, 1968 in Kenora, Ontario and spent most of his childhood there with his parents, Len and Joan and younger brother Duane. Life for Shaun growing up consisted of appreciating the outdoors through family fishing and camping trips, lots of hockey and either building or repairing something.
After graduation from high school, Shaun moved to Winnipeg to attend the University of Manitoba. Shaun graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology (1991) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) (1993). Upon graduation, Shaun started with PriceWaterhouse and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1996.
Shaun started working at Manitoba Blue Cross in 2001. He held various positions throughout his 18-year career and worked his way up to become President and CEO, a position he held until his passing.
Shaun and Cindy met in 1991 at the Commerce faculty orientation session and quickly fell in love. Shaun and Cindy were married in 1997 and were best friends to the end.
Family life was extremely important to Shaun. From the time Cayley and Chelsea were very young, the travel adventures began and continued all the way up to summer 2019. The adventures included numerous trips with the RV trailer throughout North America, flights to Europe, ski trips to the Rockies and multiple family camping trips to his favourite location being Rushing River Provincial Park.
Team sports were also very important to Shaun. Shaun played on the Rockwood Hockey team with his brother Duane for 22 years. This was not only a sport to Shaun it was also a great way to spend time with his brother and maintain friendships with a great group of people.
Cayley and Chelsea started playing ringette at a young age and this also started Shaun's coaching career. Shaun coached multiple teams throughout the years and always enjoyed his time on the ice with his girls and their teammates.
We will forever miss his incredible caring and giving personality.
A memorial service will be held on October 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
A special thank you goes out to all the staff at Health Sciences Centre, Green Owl GH4 and CancerCare Manitoba for their exceptional care.
