FREDERICK (FRED) FELBEL

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick (Fred) Felbel on October 24, 2019, at the age of 91.
On June 8, 1928 on the farm in the New Home District in Manitoba, Fred was born to Rudolph and Wilhelmina (Minnie) Felbel. Fred would proudly mention he was number six of 10 children.
Fred grew up living on a farm in the Moosehorn, Manitoba area until moving to the city in 1951. He started his city life working at Canada Messenger and in 1993, after 32 years, he retired from Western Paint and Wallcovering. Dad loved to build and fix things as he did have carpentry knowledge. He loved to golf, talk politics, enjoyed every sport on the TV and religiously watched "The Price is Right".
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elsa Margaret "Dolly" (Bohn); his children, Doreen (Norm), Darren (Mona), Deanna (Doug) and Denise; grandchildren, Amanda, Tracy (Carlin), Adam (Juline), Rachel, Ivan and Isabel; brothers, Emil (Sophie), and George; sister-in-law Florence, and many nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Bill (Alma), Roy (Sylvia), Herb (Helen), Ted, Art (Cecilia); infant Edward; sister Dorothy (Lars); sister-in-law Elsie; and grandchildren, Emily and Samuel.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota Street, on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fred may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • First: my condolences. The passing of dear relatives always hurts deeply. Second: My apologies for intruding on this occasion. I am doing some research on my own family and came across the Felbel name. Looking for a connection to a Felbel living in Detroit, MI before the First WW. Clearly this is not Frederick. Is there anyone in your extended family that meets this criterion. Sincerely. Oleg Janke - Posted by: Oleg Janke (stranger) on: Jul 30, 2020
