Helen Anderson, 85, died peacefully November 5, 2019 at her home in Winnipeg, with family by her side, after a courageous year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
She is survived by her children, Susan Anderson and Michel Grégoire; Carol and Bob Legge; Ray and Janice Anderson; Neil and Lisa Anderson; and Laura and Dave Zimmerman.
She was deeply loved by her late husband Fred, who she missed every day for the past 15 years, and adored by her 14 grandchildren, Dan, Marni, Jillian, Emilie, Kevin, Jenn, Léa, Kyle, Isabelle, Keiran, Josh, Lindsay, Ayla and Julia; and her five great-grandchildren, Audrey, Owen, Peyton, Olivia and Luke. She was predeceased by her parents, Coll and Mae; and her elder sisters, Donalda, Jean and Grace.
Fiercely loving, she elevated family and friendship to an art form and was greatly loved in return. She was utterly devoted to creating a life of beauty and comfort for her family and friends in both of her homes - in Winnipeg and Black Sturgeon Lake. Extraordinarily creative and humorous, fashionable and curious, independent and energetic, she brought joy to all of those who loved her and who are so thankful for her 85 years.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, November 15, 2019 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue at 2:00 p.m.
