WARREN BROWNE
November 10, 2019

"Goodbyes are only for those who love
with their eyes. Because for those
who love with heart and soul
there is no such thing as separation."

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Warren Browne on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Riverview Health Centre, with family and friends by his side.
Left to mourn Warren's passing is the love of his life, best friend and soulmate Barb; his son Jesse who he loved and adored; sister Diana who he loved dearly; extended family, close friends and many fans.
Warren was a loving husband, Dad, brother and friend, who cared for those he loved like no other. He will always be remembered as a popular and acclaimed international entertainer, stage actor and singer whose voice, look, charisma and charm was untouchable.
Words cannot truly describe who Warren was and the impact he had on the world and those around him. Warren was loving, caring, extremely intelligent, funny, charming, athletic and multi-talented, to say the least. Warren touched the lives of everybody he met.
His most precious moments were spent with his loved ones and friends. Warren's greatest passions were music, playing the guitar, entertaining and performing for his fans, and playing sports, such as hockey, tennis and golf.
Warren and his many talents, great love of family and friends will live forever in our hearts and in the universe. To say you will be eternally missed, is a great understatement.

You were an angel, our calming force,
only love, cherished Dad and
dearest friend and always will be.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

  • I saw the "Elvis Elvis Elvis" show a number of times, throughout the 1980's. Somewhere along the line, I decided that I wanted to be an Elvis tribute artist. At the time, I was 16-17 years old, and didn't really know much about anything...but I knew I loved Elvis, and the magic that he created on stage. I was enthralled when I saw the "Elvis Elvis Elvis" show...so much so, that I approached the stage after the show, and was lucky enough to speak with one of the performers, Warren Browne. I remember him being very kind and patient with me, as I awkwardly expressed how much I enjoyed the show, and how I felt like this might be something I'd like to do also. In fact, Warren gave me his phone number, told me to call him if I decided that I actually wanted to embark on this path, and he'd see what he could do to help me out. Though I never did follow through, as my career path took me in a totally different direction, I never forgot how excited I was to meet him, and how encouraging and supportive he was. Very sorry to learn of his passing...I see it was quite some time ago. I'm glad that I got the chance to meet, and talk with him, however briefly....condolences to his family and friends. - Posted by: Sean Caulkett (Fan) on: Jun 29, 2022

  • If I remember correctly Warren saved my dad's life in a bar fight in Winkler. Years later I Knew him as Elvis, Elvis, Elvis playing my parents hotel in Winkler. That would be 40-45yrs ago & I remember like it was yesterday. He was a true showman! - Posted by: Bryon Gottfredsen (Friend) on: Nov 01, 2020

  • Condolences to Warrens family. I played in the band with Warren way back in 1976-1978. I have very fond memories of those days, practicing, playing concerts and dances and recording. Warren was a special person, I know he is truly missed by all who knew him. RIP my friend Jim Keller - Posted by: Jim Keller (friend / Former band member) on: Mar 26, 2020

  • Warren and I were school friends and neighbourhood buddies from kindergarten until we graduated from school. After I joined the RCMP there were occasions where we both returned to our hometown Winkler and rekindled our friendship like it was yesterday. There were many nights when Warren and I stood under the street light at 9th and Mountain talking and laughing in our growing up years with Warren being the source. It wasn't until many years later I heard Warren had something to do with the Elvis trilogy and as a result I contacted him and made arrangements to meet at the Winnipeg Airport lounge while I was passing through on one of my business trips to Toronto. Up until then I had no idea of his celebrity status or that he could actually sing. We had a great time when we met and the next day he called me and thanked me for leaving him with the bar bill. We recalled alot of good times during that time including the time I accidentally stabbed him in the hand with a filleting knife. We will meet again my friend - Posted by: Doug Nauer (high school chum) on: Feb 07, 2020

  • My condolences to the Browne family, Warren was a "great human being" to all the knew him. His infectious personality was a pleasure to be around. May he rest now, Warren was extremely 'proud' of his family, always mentioned the importance of family. We all can learn from Warren how to 'live life'. With much love to the Browne family. • Extending my sincerest condolences to the Brown family. Warren was a special teammate with our first ever Selkirk Steelers team in 1966 in the MJHL. We had the pleasure of getting back together for the Steeler 50th Anniversary. He always had your back. But hearing Warren entertain was not only a surprise but impressive. We are truly saddened, but will remember all those special lifetime moments. Farewell my friend. You will be remembered always. RIP - Posted by: Willy Cole (Teammate and friend) on: Nov 16, 2019
