GORDON SENOFF

Gordon Senoff passed away into the arms of Jesus after a short illness on November 17, 2019.
He is survived by his loving wife Alma, his sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters and brothers.
Gordon was born in Arelee, Saskatchewan on December 2, 1925 to Lena and John Senoff. He was the 14th child and the youngest in the family. Gordon grew up on the farm and spent his teenage years there. He accepted Jesus into his heart and was baptized at the age of 12. He obtained his Bachelor of Education in 1957 and Masters of Education in 1959, both at the University of Manitoba. He taught at Selkirk Collegiate from 1957 to 1964. Gordon obtained his Doctor of Philosophy at University of North Dakota in 1968. Gordon was on the Brandon University faculty for 25 years from 1966 to 1991. Gordon married Alma Rapske in 1974. They spent a year honeymooning in northern Colorado which allowed Gordon to earn a degree from University of Northern Colorado - Specialist in Education (1975). Gordon had a book published in 1991 called Nature Did it First. After retirement, they moved to Winnipeg and continued their work with international students. In 1996, they moved to Kelowna and enjoyed the warmer weather and fresh fruit. They returned to Winnipeg in 2013 to be close to their family and where they continued to have contact with many of their international students.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital for their care of Gordon during his illness.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church, 2405 McGillivray Blvd. at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch and interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
