EDWIN MURDO SIMPSON

May 25, 1937 – November 19, 2019

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Edwin Murdo Simpson on November 19, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. Edwin passed away at home surrounded by his family.
Edwin was predeceased by his loving wife Charlotte; son Alexander (Sandy); and
son-in-law Ron Kimmel.
Ed was born on May 25, 1937, at home in Havelock, Ontario, son of Malcolm and Catherine Simpson. Edwin was predeceased by his sisters, Jean and Hazel; and brothers, Bob and Ron. Ed was a proud 34 year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (2RHC Nemo me impune lacessit and 2 PPCLI a battalion apart Regt Number 494) serving in Germany and Cyprus. Edwin was the proud father of Ann Kimmel, Alexander Simpson, Donald Simpson (Rose) and Patti Selman; as well as grandchildren Jason, David, Jo-Ann Marie, and great-grandchildren Tristan, Natalie and Keira.
The family will have a private celebration of his life followed by an interment at Waverley Memorial Gardens in the spring.
The family would also like to express their thanks to all the palliative home care workers that made Dad's final days comfortable as well as a special thanks to Melodie whose care made our lives easier during a very difficult time in our life.
