GEORGINA ISABEL ADDIE PEILUCK
(nee THORKELSON)
June 28, 1950 - March 18, 2019
Georgie was born in Gimli, MB, as the youngest of five children. As a teenager, she moved to Winnipeg where she completed hairdressing school. In her early twenties, she met her beloved Victor and the two went on to share 38 years of marriage. Georgie successfully operated her own hair salon and adored her role as a foster parent. She and Vic opened their hearts and home to eight additional kids over the years. Later on in life, Georgie kept herself busy with employment at Safeway Inc. where she eventually retired as a Deli worker.
Georgie was an energetic, fun-loving, feisty and outspoken woman. She knew the value of hard work and was able to accomplish anything she set her mind to. Georgie had a passion for cooking and baking, watching old, western movies and caring for her pet dogs. She was an avid music lover who would often be found dancing to polkas or playing the piano and accordion. She enjoyed camping and travelling with her family, especially to Disney destinations. Never once would Georgie pass up an opportunity to support her kids by attending their sporting events. Throughout her years, she touched countless lives with her compassion and generosity. Georgie will always be remembered as someone whose selflessness knew no bounds.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kim, Kurt, Brandy, Natasha and Honey; grandsons, Dorien and Kingston. She will be deeply missed by her brothers-in-law, Ron and David; sister-in-law Jean (Art); brother Haldor (Carol); nephews, Craig, Hal, Brian, David, Kirby, Gary, Bruce, and Michael; nieces, Karen, Vanessa, Lori and Michelle.
Georgie was predeceased by her husband Vic; parents, Dory and Effie; adopted mother Christeen Arden; sisters, Beverley and Effie; brother Phillip, and nephew Alan.
A celebration of Georgie's life will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline Street in Selkirk on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any Canadian Cancer Foundation.

Georgie and I grew up together and as kids played together at Amma's house in Gimli. We were always told that we looked alike as kids! I remember all the fun we had and I remember when she married Vic and when she had her kids. I still hear her laugh. Her kindness knows no bounds. I miss you Georgie! - Posted by: Louise Bloomfield (Relative) on: Nov 23, 2019
