DELLA MAE CAMPBELL
(BOZOWY)
December 25, 1944 - November 24, 2019

Peacefully, with her husband at her side, Della Mae Campbell lost her battle to cancer, at the Stonewall Hospital, on November 24, 2019.
Della is survived by her husband Ken, her children, Brian (Barb), Kevin (Tina) and Teresa; her grandchildren, Vincent (Danielle), Lisa, Lorne, and their mother (Kathy), John, Kurtis and Kristine; sister Verna Turner, many nieces and nephews, and very special long-time friend Peter Mott.
Della was predeceased by her father John Bozowy in 2007 and her mother Anne Bozowy in 2011.
Della was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Stony Mountain in 1952 at age eight. She soon met her childhood sweetheart, Ken, and they married November 12, 1960.
Through strong will and determination, Della went back to Red River College and obtained a graduate certificate in accounting. She spent her working career in that field, in numerous places within the government. She made many friends in her various positions and spent many years exchanging recipes with many of them.
Della's favourite place to hang her hat, so to speak, was Steep Rock, Manitoba. Della and Ken spent a lot of their spare time relaxing and entertaining family and friends at their place.
The family would like to thank CancerCare Manitoba, Dr. Venter, the Stonewall Hospital and its staff for their care provided to her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the Heritage Arts Centre, Quarry Park, 166 Main Street, Stonewall at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local animal shelter fund.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Our sincere condolences Ken and family. As schoolmates my memories of Della were of her as a child and teenager. Years after I left the Mountain we managed to make a connection and she was always patient enough to provide me updates on the folks we knew at the Mountain. She was the last link I had with the town I grew up in. We'll be in touch Ken. Take care of yourself. Sadly and sincerely, Donna and Lance Steel - Posted by: Lance Steel (Friend) on: Jan 06, 2020

  • I am so saddened to hear of Della's passing. I adored this wonderful lady. I worked at Stonewall Medical, and Della would often stop at my office door to chat. I enjoyed her visits. She was full of fun and stories, and would often come by and just give me a hug, which would simply make my day. I will miss her friendship and know that I will never meet another like her. My sincerest condolences, Ken and family. - Posted by: Lynn Smith (Friend) on: Nov 28, 2019

  • We are so sorry to hear of Della's passing. We were lucky enough to get to know Della and her family at Steep Rock Beach Park. Della was always cheerful and so happy to see us and share a visit. We had a most memorable quad ride together chasing a moto biker who drove down the beach. She was hooting as we made our way through the mud and dense bush. She loved every minute of it and I’m pleased I got to share that moment with her. Rest In Peace my friend - you were loved by all ❤️❤️❤️ - Posted by: Lana & Trevor Gabbs (Camping buddies) on: Nov 27, 2019

  • Ken and Family, My sincere condolences for the passing of Della. We curled together in the Stony Mtn. and Stonewall Senior curling leagues and it was always a fun time. A few years ago I had to put my little dog down and Della was there for me, I never forgot her compassion. Della will certainly be missed by all who knew her. May God bless her and may she rest in peace. Sincerely, Craig Ross - Posted by: Craig Ross (Friend) on: Nov 27, 2019
