Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I was lucky enough to meet Darryl in my early 20’s. We had a lot of mutual interests most being sports and the outdoors. We coached together and shared many sporting activities both playing and as spectators. Darryl was a fantastic man loved by everyone who came into his presence. We shared so many great memories and I will always hold his friendship dear to my heart. Although I hadn’t seen Darryl much in the last few years we still remained friends. Our hearts go out the family as his passing blindsided everyone and he was taken from us much too soon! RIP my good friend. Ray Duma and family - Posted by: Ray Duma (Friend) on: Dec 14, 2019

  • I worked with Darryl while at NAPA. We soon became friends and spoke regularly. I enjoyed his sense of humour, friendly smile and easy laugh. I was saddened when he called to tell me he was leaving, but we stayed in touch. I only found out this Monday that he so tragically passed. I called him on the 29th and we spoke for some time. Sharing a laugh and solving the world's problems. I will miss him. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Merv Sandberg (Friend ) on: Dec 11, 2019

  • Another buddy taken from us far too soon. Had a great time playing ball with you Chach. The beers we shared, the stories we told and the fun we had are priceless. Deepest condolences to the family. Prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Howie Prociuk (Friend) on: Dec 04, 2019

  • Darryl was a great friend and teammate for many years of Saturday hockey with the Winnipeg Jesters. We would most often end up situated next to each other in the dressing room and as such I would learn of much of what was going on for Darryl week to week for about 6.5 months each year. His kindness, humour and sense of fun both on and off the ice will be what I miss most about Darryl. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his wife Val and his two lovely daughters. Darryl will always have a seat next to me in all the dressing rooms I will enter throughout the rest of my hockey playing days. - Posted by: Trevor Buhnai (Friend & Teammate) on: Dec 04, 2019
