March 10, 1919 - November 29, 2019
Mum will be missed by her family, Bill (Louise), Carol (Peter), Jan (Ted), Jim (Carol), Brenda (Greg) and Shirley (Don), nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, numerous nephews and nieces.
Showing love, kindness, being grateful and seeing the beauty in all things were what Mum valued most in her life. She instilled in all of us that "Family and friends are everything, and the rest is all junk, so let it go." A quick wit, a sense of humour, and the most beautiful smile and easy laugh will always be treasured by those who knew her. As a teacher of life, she was one of the best.
We are most grateful for palliative home care, and those that supported mum in her wish to die at home. A very special thanks to Angela, Dr. Wiebe, Rhonda, Fred, and Dr. Kevin Coates for the compassion you showed mum and our family on her journey.
In lieu of flowers, please give your loved ones a hug, a kiss, and show kindness where ever you go. Honouring Mum's wishes, a celebration of her life will be held later in the spring.
