SUZANNE WEST
(BOISSELLE)
June 7, 1949 - November 18, 2019
She tended an exquisite garden (it was her special place) and was devoted to a succession of beloved cats and dogs. Other interests were knitting, sewing, reading and baking specialty breads. Suzanne had a powerful presence, held deep convictions, was assertive, had a robust voice, a hearty laugh and did not shy away from controversy. She made friends naturally and was thoughtful and attentive. Suzanne was successful in professional life, as secretary, French teacher and real estate agent, always valuing human interactions and advocating for the disadvantaged.
Born Marie Suzanne Victoria Lynne Boisselle in Noranda-Témiscamingue, Quebec to Françoise and Lucien Boisselle, she took pride in her Métis roots. Her family moved to Manitoba where she graduated from St. Mary's Academy (1968) and later attended the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Education.
Suzanne was predeceased by her parents and brother Paul. She is survived by brother Marc; her three sons, Clinton, Matthew and Christopher (Heather) and two grandchildren, (highlights of her life), Kendall and Colton.
A family celebration of Suzanne's life was held on December 1, 2019.
The family wishes to thank Denise Kennington, Suzanne's compassionate, dear friend and neighbour, Drs. Kidane, Buchel, Christodoulou, Jacobsohn and nursing staff of the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care, St. Boniface Hospital.
In place of flowers, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society would be appreciated.
