I would like to say a special thank you to Nonnee and John, Allen and Sue, Corey and Susan and caregiver Lynne for all the joy you gave Dad in his final years with your visits, cards and letters. A special thank you also to Deer Lodge nurses, care aides and support staff that made every day a happy one for him. He was truly happy and loved his room. His favorite saying "Off like a herd of Turtles" made everyone laugh, his humour was always present.
Rest in peace my dear Dad. You were
a gentle soul and a guiding light in my life. You will be so dearly missed.

In 1979, I was a 25 year old clerk working at Customs. Bob was in his early 50s and was my immediate supervisor. I called him Mr. Hopper, but he said, call me Bob. I considered myself both fortunate and proud to be invited to golf and curl with Bob at a couple of Customs events. I even got to enjoy an evening duck hunt with Bob and a couple of other fellow workers. After the hunt we got to share a drink and meet his lovely wife Noreen at their home on Valour Road. I was truly saddened when I read of Bob's passing. Bob was one of the most compassionate and kind men I have ever met. I sincerely extent my deepest sympathy to his daughter and the entire Hopper family! - Posted by: Lorne Paul (Co Worker) on: Dec 15, 2019

My condolences to the family. Bob worked with and was a friend of my father (Hugh Tait). I also worked with Bob at Customs. He was one of my first bosses. Bob, my father and I enjoyed many hunting trips together. Bob was a kind and considerate man and a pleasure to be around. - Posted by: David Tait (Co worker and friend) on: Dec 15, 2019

Our thoughts are with you, Marsha, Rick and family, at this very sad time. We loved our visits with Bob, as he remained upbeat, cheerful and full of fun. He was a delight to one and all who knew him. He will be forever missed in our lives. The planet is a poorer place for his leaving it. We visited with Bob and Noreen at their home in Mesa several times, and always had such fun times with them because they were truly young at heart.
