ZOFIA JOHNS
(nee EWERT-KRZEMIENIEWSKI)
Born in war-torn Europe and subsequently raised in Winnipeg, her early years after graduation from the University of Manitoba were spent as an elementary school and music teacher in Ontario. After marriage, she became a world traveller and spent many years abroad on various adventures. She was also a lifelong learner pursuing additional university degrees and learning and teaching languages.
Zofia was known for her big heart and was always helping those in need such as the homeless and refugees. After leaving retirement to work at The Bay, she won rave revues for her extraordinary customer service, even learning sign language so she could better serve clients.
Her greatest wish was to have a large family to share meals and laughs. Zofia will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Robert, and their two children and their spouses, Robin (Agata) and Marcus (Crystal); five grandchildren, Maria, Max, Natascha, Karl and Lilly; and her brother George. Zofia will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends around the world.

Sophia and I were next door neighbors on Anderson Avenue. I have such fond memories of her childhood friendship and listening to her play the piano. We lost touch when they moved to Davidson street. Her Mom and Dad came to our wedding but otherwise we have no memories of seeing any of the family after that. I have been trying to find her off and on for years.. Today, I found her obituary online… so sad… my condolences to the family! I have very cherished memories of a beautiful girl!!
