RONALD NICHOLAS YAWORSKI
Ron was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Velma (nee Gawryluk). He is remembered with love and greatly missed by his wife Linda, son Daniel (Jolie), daughter Serena (Jeff), grandson Zander and granddaughter Emryn. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Premachuk (Scott) and brother-in-law Gary Lauber (Terry) and nephews, Steven and Travis, as well as extended family.
Ron was born in Winnipeg on April 16, 1952. He had many careers throughout his life. Over 20 years ago he found his passion with school buses, first as a driver for children with special needs and very quickly thereafter as a trainer/instructor culminating as Training and Recruitment Officer for Winnipeg School Division. His primary concern was always the children and he was well known for his sayings, "it's a guideline not a deadline" and, "what's right is right and what's wrong is wrong".
Family and family outings were always most important to Ron, and most often included the grandmothers. He supported all of Daniel's and Serena's activities, often volunteering to assist in fundraising and other activities. He would always be present at Serena's dance recitals and even joined in as a dancing dad for several years. He was so happy when his grandchildren arrived and loved spending time with them. Trips to the zoo and play-fighting with light sabers were a few of his favourite activities. He was also encouraging Serena and Jeff to add to his clan. He was a proud Gigi and would have loved to spend more time and meet all additional family members.
Ron had many interests. He loved to cook, collected everything from spoons to model school buses to James Bond memorabilia, and was a car fanatic and an excellent party planner. He liked travelling and his favourite places to visit always had palm trees, in particular Florida. He swore that nothing smelled as good as a palm tree.
Ron would want to make sure that we extended thanks to the many medical professionals we encountered through this journey. There are so many caring and compassionate people who he would always tell were "chosen by God."
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington Street. Ron loved colour. Please come dressed that way.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ron's memory to a charity of your choice.

My sincerest apologies for my very late offer of condolences. I’ve been living in Kelowna for several years. Tonight for some reason Ron’s name popped into my head and the first place I looked was here in the Winnipeg Free Press obituaries. I spent a number of years hanging around with Ron and his sister Shirley, when we were in our early 20’s. Loved the ‘Cuda he drove. We had some pretty good times and lots of laughs. I’m so sorry to read his passing here. I hope all’s good with you Shirley. - Posted by: Randy Heatherington (Friend) on: Nov 15, 2021

I am a longtime friend of the family. I grew up with Ron’s sister Shirley. Best friends. Ronnie and his teen age friends were always gathering at the family home on Yonge Street. Still a best friend of Shirley, I followed Ron and Linda’s life through Shirley’s stories. Although I had not seen them for years. I was so happy that they raised two wonderful children and very happy grandparents. Ron was a force and will live in our hearts always. My sincere condolences to Linda and the family and to my dear friend Shirley and her family. Ron will be truly missed. So sorry for you loss. My deepest sympathies to the family. I am really sad to hear this news. Ron spoke so highly of his children and wife. His first grandchild was the light of his life. I worked with Ron for 8 years and know that he was one of the most kind, caring, compassionate person I’ve ever had the privilege of working for and with. Great sense of humour, very relaxed, took pride in whatever he’d do and was very dedicated. I know he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Thank you Ron for all the good you’ve done and happiness you’ve shared. - Posted by: Bruce Hall (Former employee ) on: Dec 22, 2019
