Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Today, on the anniversary of her passing, we pay tribute to Leonore Saunders, a wonderful woman, mother and wife. She cared deeply about so many and involved herself fully in her chosen passions. To the Thomson clan she was our “Aunt” Leonore and held a place of honour in our family. I (Alison) was happy to reconnect with Aunt Leonore in her later years at The Boulton, where she was happy to fill me in on news of her own large family. Gone, but certainly not forgotten. Condolences to her family, Alison Robinson Janice Ditner - Posted by: Alison Robinson (Friend) on: Dec 16, 2020

  • I was honoured to know Leonore, since 1986, first through the Provincial Council of Women of Manitoba, where she was one of my mentors and provided much wise counsel to many of us who followed her. Leonore truly was the backbone of the organization, of which she had been a longstanding member, served in various capacities as President, Past President, very active committee member and friend to many of us. Our family were pleased to have her come to our Christmas Eve celebrations for a number of years, until she was no longer able. We remembered her this last one and recounted some of her stories of the past. My sincere condolences to her family. She will always remain in our hearts. - Posted by: Monika G. • Leonore was my table mate at the Boulton. I appreciated her company and her friendship. She knew what she liked and what she wanted or did not want. I enjoyed the memories she shared with me. I am richer for having known her! - Posted by: Joan Grenon (friend) on: Dec 22, 2019
