TAKESHI TAKADA
March 28, 1928 - December 19, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband and father, Takeshi (Tak) Takada, on December 19, 2019, at the age of 91 years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 wonderful years, Mitsuko; children, Lori (Denis), Moreen (Rolly) and Randy (Linda and Macy) as well as numerous extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Fusajiro and Iku Takada.
Takeshi was born on March 28, 1928 in Vancouver, BC. In his youth, Dad was a good athlete and played many sports such as lacrosse, baseball and basketball. During the war, his family was interned to Tashme Internment Camp in 1942. In 1946, they moved to Winnipeg where he worked as an electrician. He began to work for Comstock Canada in 1950 and through the years became a successful Electrical Controller. Takeshi retired from Comstock in 1989.
Takeshi was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He was hardworking, determined and good with his hands as he built the family cottage in Gimli. He was an avid sports fan of the Winnipeg Jets, the Blue Bombers, the Minnesota Vikings and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Football Team. He passed his love of sports on to his children. Takeshi enjoyed travelling and he and Mom were able to enjoy many vacations with family and friends, after retirement. We will miss his great sense of humour, generosity and endless storytelling.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and other staff on the Third Floor North of the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion to Dad in his final three weeks. We are also very thankful for those who have surrounded us with thoughts, prayers and loving support through this entire difficult and emotional time.
At Takeshi's request, there will be no funeral service. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association.

"Don't cry for me, this is not the end.
I'll be waiting for you when we meet again."

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My deepest condolences to your family on the loss of your dear husband and father. I hope that the memories of wonderful family times spent, will help you through the sad times ahead. Sincerely; Caron Procak - Posted by: Caron Procak (Friend) on: Jan 15, 2020

  • I first met Tak in 1977 in my backyard in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay). Dave Bjorklund was my next door neighbour. Over the next several years our paths crossed many times through work. Tak was one of these electrical types who I found it easy to talk to about anything especially when one of us had a problem. Easy going guy who, I found out at his retirement party, was a model railroad man. Great man, will surely be missed. Condolences to his wife and family. 私の人生にいてくれてありがとう Watashinojinsei ni ite kurete arigatō - Posted by: Alex Cupples (Work related) on: Dec 31, 2019

  • I was saddened when I saw Tak's obituary. Please accept our condolences. I didn't realize we had not seen him in quite a while. It was always a pleasure to see him at his appointments with us. - Posted by: Dianne and Kendra (Winnipeg Hearing Centres) on: Dec 30, 2019
