DARRYL JOHN TAYLOR
1967 - 2019
He was predeceased by his mother Sylvia; and sister Kimberley. Darryl will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Diana; his children, Isaac, Jacob (Misty), Kailynne (Kriston), his stepson Isaac; and kookie dog, Calla. He was the beloved older brother to Amber (Chad, children Erin and Mackenzie) and Chris (child Kayla); and cherished son of John (Carole). He will be deeply missed by his best friend Derrick (Jackie); his cousins; and his very special group of lifelong friends who loved him like a brother. Upon meeting his
in-laws he was immediately loved and recognized as one of their own and they are grieving his passing as well from Ottawa.
Darryl was an easy going, beautiful soul who loved his friends, family and work and who shared everything he had with those he loved. His great passions in life were playing music with his friends, both playing and watching sports - particularly football and hockey, and, as a goalie, he took one of his teams to the championships. He toured as lead singer of a couple of bands, Misbehavin and Givener, in his youth and spent the rest of his years gathering with friends to jam and play out whenever he could. He believed in supporting his home teams and was a dedicated Jets and Bombers fan, often calling plays just before the announcers did. He cherished his yearly fishing trips to Lake George with his friends and his times going for walks at Kildonan Park, skating, camping and travelling or at the cottage with his wife and kids.
Darryl enjoyed nature and loved observing and learning about animals, the earth, stars and everything in between. He was a natural comedian who saw humour in everything and loved to make people laugh.
Darryl was a devoted father who loved his kids more than anything in this world and he was blessed to finally find true love with Diana at the age of 47. He will be greatly missed and forever loved and we know that we all have another angel watching over us now from the other side as he did when he was here.
Please join Darryl's family and friends for a memorial service and reception to grieve together and to remember and celebrate Darryl's life at 10:00 a.m. on December 30, 2019, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave.
The family extends a special thank you to the Never Alone Foundation for their generosity and especially to the health care teams at CancerCare, CIVP and the palliative ward and home community workers at St. Boniface Hospital. Your work is sacred and you do it with love. Thank you.
In lieu of flowers and if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Never Alone Foundation or in trust for the kids' care to Darryl's wife, Diana Delroy.

Chris and Amber I am very sorry to hear of Darrel‘s passing. I remember the times at twin lakes in our early years full of carefree days enjoying the sun on the beach. Although it was 40 years ago those memories live on and those people that touch our lives are never forgotten. - Posted by: Rod (Friend) on: Feb 20, 2020

To Darryl's family: Please accept my heartfelt, sincere and deepest sympathy at this most difficult. I heard from my nephew, who had worked with Darryl for many years at the Seven Oaks School Division, that Darryl had passed away. I have know Darryl for many, many years, and was the child-care supervisor when Isaac and Jacob attended the Before and After School Program at Robertson School. I live one street over from Darryl and his family, and Darryl and the boys would also stop to say "hi" if they saw me out in the yard when they were heading home down the back lane. Stay strong for one another, and always keep Darryl in your hearts. ...Marilyn - Posted by: Marilyn Corbitt (Friend, neighbour and former Child Care Educator) on: Jan 11, 2020

Darryl was one of the most positive people I have ever met. It is said the way we live forever is by the memories and love left behind in the hearts those we love.. I think he will live forever for many of us. - Posted by: Shirlee (Shirlee) on: Dec 29, 2019

Our family sends it's condolences to the entire Taylor family, during this difficult time. In our younger years, our parents & Darryl's parents camped together at Twin Beaches, We have many fond memories of those days at the beach, the fun & laughter we shared. I can still recall it being plus 30 Celsius & Darryl begging to have us "take shots on him" and since our road hockey sticks were at the lake........we would until we were all exhausted. We always enjoyed his friendship. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. - Posted by: Lee McDonald (Friend) on: Dec 29, 2019
