DOROTHY MAE KROCKER
(nee MERKEL)
November 27, 1922 - December 24, 2019
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Lawrence; her beloved sons, Ron and Larry, and a number of siblings.
Dorothy leaves to mourn her daughter Carroll Miller; grandchildren, Darrin (Betty), Darnell (Marle), Jason (Kerri), Jenny (Mike), Chris and Colin (Nena). Also, she leaves her sister Phyllis and her brother Gaylord, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy lived in Winnipeg most of her adult life, had an abundance of friends to this day and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She will leave a lasting impression on so many lives that she has touched over the years. Dorothy was an amazing woman - her energy and kindness knew no bounds. She was a very caring, thoughtful, and generous person. She passed with her mind intact (like she wanted), still lived independently (like she wanted), and remained as active as possible to the very end. Dorothy always liked others to know how strong and independent she was and that she had lived in her own home and continued to drive until the age of 93. Dorothy loved gardening and most of us can attest that her produce could rival that of most any grocer. No matter what the task or chore, Dorothy always gave it her all - and therefore, also expected the same of others.
Dorothy has served her country, worked for social services, and cared for and nurtured a number of family members in their illnesses. In the most recent few months she has said that she was ready to go - she lived a full, happy and meaningful life.
She was loved by so many, her memory will forever be in our hearts. We will miss you Nan, rest peacefully.
Funeral services will be held on January 2, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Faith Covenant Church, 1229 Windermere Avenue.
Special thanks to Erin Friesen who was always there for her and went way beyond just being a kind neighbour. And also, thank you to all the others who assisted and helped Dorothy in the last few years, it was greatly appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

I am sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. I worked with both Dorothy and her son, Larry, back in the 70's on Main St. The obituary is such a nice tribute to her. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Mary Wersch (Co-worker) on: Dec 31, 2019
