November 18, 1926 - December 23, 2019

Peacefully, with family by her side, Laurette (Tata) Durand (née Dumont), returned to her heavenly home on December 23, 2019, at the age of 93.
She shared 60 wonderful years with her husband Denis. Together they raised their daughters on the family farm in Lorette, Manitoba. Mom was very focused on both family and community. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and made sure to always have cookies on hand.
Laurette was predeceased by her parents, her two brothers, eight sisters, one sister-in-law and seven brothers-in-law, as well as two great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are: her husband Denis, her daughters, Denise, Janine (Gilles) and Simone (Jacques); nine grandchildren, Sean (Samantha), Leanne (Matt), Sheldon, Jason (Breanne), Miguel (Jenna), Milaine (Cameron), Monique (Eric), Chantal (Mike) and Justice (Nyssa); 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends at their apartment building and at the Coronation Bowling Lanes.
Prayers for Laurette will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020, at Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 DesMeurons St., Winnipeg, MB. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, 1282 Dawson Road, Lorette, MB. We would like to thank Father J. Mario de los Rios Londono for his assistance in the preparation of the celebration and for officiating.
A special thank you to the employees at St. Boniface Hospital, specifically the staff of the Emergency Department and the Cardiac Care unit for their kindness and exceptional care. The family would also like to thank Dr. Christopher Matthews for his many years of care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5.

Bon courage, cher ami. - Posted by: Annette Bonomo (friend) on: Jan 03, 2020
