Fondly remember the fun we had in Winnipeg, the home brew issue, playing frisbee at Assiniboine park, Turkey dinner at the Condo, shopping, drinks. Good night Irene, you had a Great life and you always cared for others. Our sympathy is with you Jack, you were Irene's best man and caregiver.! My sincere condolences Jack for the passing of your beautiful wife Irene. Though I have not been at the facility for the past month I was saddened to hear our quiet friend was gone. I know life was not easy for her in the end but pls know she was very much loved and engaged with attention everyday. I loved giving her a cuddle at the start of shift and telling her my silly story’s of life’s mishaps. She would always give me a little deep laugh which I know took energy she had little off I’ll miss her presence very much! Come to visit us anytime for dinner and a cooking show on the TV haha Take care Xo - Posted by: Ellen Brown (Nurse at GWCL ) on: Jan 11, 2020

Jack, I am so saddened by the passing of Irene. I remember her so fondly. She will always be my Auntie Irene. My mom and dad loved their Christmas time dinners with you and Irene at Rae and Jerry’s. There’s a picture of one of those good times hanging up at the cabin. My family extends our deepest sympathies to you. Roma Konyk Hanson - Posted by: Roma Konyk Hanson (Friend) on: Jan 07, 2020

We have many fond memories of our times with Irene. One of my favourites was in Germany when Uncle Jack and I ran 10 kilometres through mountainous terrain to earn a gold Volksmarch medal. After the run, we limped into the community hall to find my sister and Irene enjoying local libations, widely grinning at us. They had not participated in the activity, but Irene had used her immense charm to get the same gold medals. - Posted by: Beverlee Ritchie (Niece) on: Jan 06, 2020
