JOHN ROBERT BEAR
(BEAR WIND MAN)
April 21, 1959 - January 7, 2020

After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones by his side, John went into the presence of his Lord and Savior, at the age of 60 years old.
John was predeceased by father George Bear, November 2, 1980; mother Maryann, September 14, 2014; and sister Rosemarie, February 16, 2015.
He will be lovingly remembered by his family: brothers, George, Sheldon, Dean (Otta) and Al; sisters, Sandra (Rolly), Gail, Stella and Lonnie; son Byron (Tanya) and his grandchildren, Anthony, Thea and Nevaeh; many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly and great-niece Levica May, who he got to see before his passing.
The family wish to thank the staff at Beausejour Hospital and to his nurse Brianna who watched him unconditionally.
Wake will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Private Tommy Chief Memorial Hall. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Private Tommy Chief Memorial Hall, Brokenhead First Nation, MB with Sterling Ranville officiating and Dwight Klatt as Master of Ceremonies and interment to follow in the St. Phillips Cemetery.
His pallbearers will be Sheldon Bear, Kelsey Bear, Darrell Bear, Rob Bear, Dwight Klatt and Glen Hewgill. Honorary pallbearers will be all his family, friends, nieces, nephews, and all his musician friends.

  • I met John,as a customer at Walmart, always said hi to me while he was in, always a smile and a story of the day, very beautiful personality, towards the end of his life he often hugged me and told me take life one day at a time!
