MaryLou will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Cathy, Sandie, Darren (Gail), Danny (Colleen) and Jennifer (Paul); grandchildren, Michael, Tiffany, Jared, Gabrielle, Brenden, Tanner, Tristan and Treysun; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Cameron, and Emma.
MaryLou was born and raised in Elmwood. She married Gordon King in 1957 becoming an RCMP wife. In the early years along with their children they resided in various areas of the Winnipeg, Hull Quebec, Arborg and OakBank. In 1985 Mom, on her own with Jennifer moved to Dugald where when she retired moved into Evergreen Lodge and recently Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank.
MaryLou was hard-working, friendly, generous and kind making her a well-liked cashier in her 30 years at Family Fare in Oakbank. She enjoyed curling, travelling with her cousin Pat, Granny Annie, and friend Pat, going to the casino, loved kitchen time with the kids, Old Tyme Music with Chic, Bob, and Elsie, coffee and a smoke with Gail, Margie and Doreen, pancakes at Chicken Chef, and especially bingo with Coila and Bernice.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff and residents of Kin Place for their wonderful care and friendship over the last 14 months. You gave mom a safe and happy home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 19, 2020, at the Dugald Community Club, 544 Holland St., Dugald, come anytime from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and share some memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kin Place Personal Care Home Recreation fund, P.O. Box 28, Oakbank, MB R5N 0P8.
