EVELYN MALIGEC
Born in 1951 in Manila, Philippines, she moved to Winnipeg in 1971.
Evelyn worked at MPI for 35 years, from 1972 to 2007. She started her career as a Key Punch Operator and worked her way up as a Customer Service Representative. She took great pride in her work. Many times she graced the covers of MPI publications.
Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed many family gatherings, and singing karaoke. In her later years, she spent time on the West Coast with her grandsons, and with her granddaughter in Winnipeg.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Branko Maligec; and her children, Elizabeth (Rommel), and Mark (Karen); and her beloved grandchildren, Madison, Mateo, Fabian, and Emry.
Memorial gift may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

I worked with Evelyn for many years. We enjoyed each other’s company whether it was work or conversations about our families. Loved her smile. Deepest condolences to the family. RIP my Evelyn. - Posted by: June Neal (Co-worker (MPI)) on: Feb 07, 2020

I only had the privilege of acquaintance with Evelyn in recent months. She was always delightful and had a charming sense of humour. As a couple, the Maligecs were to be envied for their closeness and commitment to each other. I am grateful for the privilege of having met Evelyn. I pray that God will grant Branko and family peace and cherished memories during this difficult time. - Posted by: John Mackay (Friend) on: Jan 30, 2020
