JOYCE ISABELLA BEST
1927 - 2020

It is with sad hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our mother on January 30, 2020 at Oakview Place.
Mom was predeceased by our father James Beverly Best in 1977.
She leaves behind to mourn two daughters, Debbie Lafreniere (Denis) and Colleen
(Barry), granddaughters, Dara, Jennifer (Kris), Kaylee (Alex), and great-grandchildren, Haylee, Danica, Gavin and Oskar.
Mom worked for the City of Winnipeg for 25 years and retired as a supervisor for the Water Department. She was very proud of this accomplishment.
After retiring, she volunteered at the
Children's Hospital and the City of Winnipeg Retired Association. She loved to travel at any opportunity and spend time with her
family.
We would like to thank the staff at Oakview for their wonderful care and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

We love you Mom and Nana.
We will carry you in our hearts forever.

  • She was my wife's roommate at Oakveiw and always happy. She will be missed - Posted by: James Taylor (Friend) on: Feb 08, 2020

  • It is with great sadness that we learned of Joyce's passing. Betty and Joyce worked together and were close friends for 50 years. Even after they both retired, they made a point of getting together for lunch once a week until their health made to difficult to travel. However, weekly phone conversations could last for hours. We offer our sincere condolences to Debbie, Colleen, and their families. She was a great lady and equally a friend.
