JO-ANN WILKINS
1943 - 2020
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, William "Bill" Wilkins. Her memory will live on with her children and grandchildren: Krista, Todd, Sam and Kylea Buchanan, Ken Wilkins, Pauline Solayo, and Jasper Solayo. Jo-Ann had a special place in her heart for their dog Shasta, and her granddogs, Shiloh and Jack.
Jo-Ann was raised in Brandon and graduated from St. Michael's Academy. She met Bill at a youth group at Central United Church and they were married May 22, 1965.
Jo-Ann and Bill were members of the Kinsmen Club in both Brandon and Winnipeg. They were current members in the K-40 Club. Jo-Ann was a loyal supporter of the Conservative Party and worked tirelessly both provincially and federally to support many candidates over the years. Jo-Ann worked at CIBC and later at the Reh-Fit Centre in Winnipeg.
Jo-Ann's greatest passion was her grandchildren. She was a constant cheerleader for Sam and Kylea at countless games and performances. She was always touched by receiving texts from Jasper in Calgary to tell her what he was doing or simply to say 'hi'.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, therapists and aides at Grace Hospital, especially the Intensive Care Unit staff for their compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg .
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Diabetes Canada, the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
