ELIZABETH (BETTY) BROWN
(nee MCDONALD)
Betty is survived by her sons, Bill (Sandy) and John (Lisa); and grandchildren, Sharlene, Nicole, and Jaclyn. She will also be remembered by her sister Pat; and brother Jim. Betty was predeceased by her husband Daniel (Danny) Brown, of 41 years.
Betty was born in Bonnyrigg, Scotland, on February 16, 1930. She worked in a paper mill in Lasswade. Danny and Betty were married in Scotland, March 27, 1957, and shortly thereafter immigrated to Canada to start a new life. She worked at the Winnipeg Clinic, and then the Manitoba Clinic, where she left to start her family in 1963.
Mom loved to dance and enjoyed social gatherings, especially around the Christmas season. The Boxing Day parties Mom and Dad hosted became legendary amongst friends and family in Winnipeg, and took place over many years. Mom's lip syncing performances of Jennifer Rush's song, Power of Love, were second to none.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Alzheimers Unit at the Riverview Health Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, or Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
An afternoon to remember will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.

My memories of Mrs. Brown are from being friends with John when we were teenagers. She always had time to listen to us talk about girls and what was happening in our lives. She provided us with advice and guidance on many occasions; I even received an amazing tea reading from her which I remember to this day as it was accurate on so many things at the time and in the future. She always encouraged John and I to live life and enjoy our time as young men which I think we did (maybe a little too much at times:)). Rest in peace Mrs. Brown and thank you for the fond memories. - Posted by: Roger Delorme (Family Friend) on: Feb 16, 2020

We’d like to offer our condolences to all of Mrs. B’s family at this time. We have many fond memories of her especially her Boxing Day parties with Boney M on the stereo and Scottish Eggs as one of the many foods to choose from. She will be missed by all. Rest In Peace knowing that it is her time to reunite with her husband now. The King’s - Posted by: Wayne & Tracey King (Bill’s inlaws) on: Feb 09, 2020
