DOROTHY SYLVIA WIEBE

Quietly, peacefully and on her own terms, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sylvia, quit her fight against the cancers she has so valiantly fought against over the last seven years.
Our mother wanted nothing more than to be with her family and she again let us know the importance of that on Saturday, February 8, 2020, by passing away with all of us at her side.
Mom was a bubbly, loving person whose love and laughter were contagious. She approached everything in her life with a wonderful sense of humour and a drive and determination that was more than admirable.
Family and friends were front and center in Mom's life. No matter where she went or whose path she crossed you instantly became her friend and joined the ranks of family. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for us. The fight she gave against cancer proved that over and over again. Her decision to stop fighting was also done out of love for her family and friends, as she knew how much it hurt us to watch her suffering.
Each breath taken in her lifetime was used to love, to laugh, and to give. Everyone whose path she crossed will be better and brighter for having known her.
She left a sparkle of joy wherever she went.
There will be an unfillable void in every one of us with her gone.
Please join us in celebration of Sylvia's life on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Avenue with a reception in the church hall to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Children's Hospital NICU or Thelma Wynne Project.
Please sign a heart at the church and take a shoe from the table in memory of Sylvia.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I remember Sylvia as always having a smile for everyone, always willing to do more than asked and above all a "Super Mom*.Our daughters went to school together and were in the same Brownie group .Although we didn't meet up that often in recent years it was always a "giggle" whenever we did. I'm sure her family have many happy and lovely memories. With sincere sympathy. Lorraine and Kirsten Helgason - Posted by: Lorraine Helgason (neighbour) on: Feb 15, 2020
