DONNA JEAN JOHNSTON
After a short illness and brief time in the Hospital, Donna passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
Donna had many friends of all ages and generations who enjoyed her positive outlook and sense of humour. She will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her, especially her children, Jennifer, Sheila and Stephen; and our brother Tom, who is not here with us, but is now with our mom. She will also be missed by her sister Ann Speirs and the entire family.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held on Friday, February 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace Hospital for their great care, professionalism and support, especially Dr. George, Tracy, Kelsey and Maria.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please remember Donna with a smile. Live your lives on your own terms and laugh often.

Donna was very special to me. She treated like one of her daughters. I have fond memories of sitting at the lake, drinking gin and tonics and telling stories. Her laugh was infectious and her smile warm. I remember when she first cut her hair short. It was like a weight was lifted. She was so happy. My heart goes out to Jennifer, Steve, Sheila and Jim. I miss all of you and send my love. Cheers Donna ! Martine xoxo - Posted by: martine comty bingham (Friend ) on: Feb 20, 2020

Dear Sheila, Jennifer and Stephen, We were so saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. We have so many wonderful memories of happy times at Clear Lake, swimming at the dock, happy hours and recipe parties. Donna was such a special friend to Mom and kept a close eye on her when Mom was having difficulties. The drives to Dauphin and a stop at McDonalds was always a highlight! I have and still wear the lovely dress your Mom hand painted for me in 2003, she had such a wonderful talent in so many things and always made us feel so welcome. Bob just said, she had such an infectious laugh. With Love and Heartfelt Sympathy, Kerry, Bob, Patty and Scott xo - Posted by: Kerry and Bob Green (Friends) on: Feb 19, 2020

My fondest, funniest memory of Donna & other Clear Lake friends was an afternoon tea party recipe exchange with Jennifer & my daughter helping the ladies write, print & pass in correct order.. it was a lovely afternoon in Donna’s beautiful log cottage. The recipes are probably used today by those of us left behind & there aren’t many. My sincere sympathy to you Jennifer & the family. Pat C - Posted by: Pat Coleman (Friend) on: Feb 19, 2020
