GEORGE BOUVIER
August 4, 1954 - February 11, 2020

With extreme sadness and heavy hearts the family announces the passing of our brother, uncle and good friend, George, on February 11, 2020, at the age of 65. As sad as we are to lose George, we are glad that he is no longer suffering and has reunited with his mom and dad, and good friend Hope.
George will be deeply missed by his two brothers: Roger (Joanne) and Maurice, his three sisters: Pauline (Steve), Louise and Lucie. Uncle George will also be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews: Jackie (Guy), Joel (Crystal), Matthew, Ashley (Lee), Leanne and Cameron (Amy); also his great-nieces and nephews: Emily, Jeremy (Natali), Aidan, Carter, Hailey, Hunter, Landon and Nyla.
After high school George was hired in St. Georges, MB from a Government grant for the summer, then went to work for Pine Falls Golf Course and then on to Pine Falls Abitibi Paper Mill where he was employed from 1977 until the closing of the mill.
George was a proud, generous and private person. He enjoyed hosting his family, friends and all of his nieces and nephews at his previous home in Silver Falls at the 4P Festival. Bonfires, BBQs, Boating and anything you wanted to do at George's he would have no fear.
A special thank you to Marc Boisjoli for many years of friendship, and always being there for him. Thanks to his friends at Foyer Chateauguay for all the help you've given George - whether it was a ride, taking him to his appointments or just looking out for him no matter what time of day or how late, he truly enjoyed living there and loved all your companionship. He loved watching and cheering on the Winnipeg Jets, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Blue Jays. He was often heard saying..."wait, just one more". He will be missed by all who knew him. George loved animals. There were many in his lifetime that crossed his path and are now beside him once again.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of the doctors, nurses and staff at Pine Falls Hospital and to the medical teams and personnel on the GD3 Unit at Health Sciences Centre for your dedication in caring for George.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Winnipeg River Heritage Museum in St. Georges, Manitoba R0E 1V0.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place in the summer of 2020 for family, friends and acquaintances of now and long ago.

Rest In Peace George...We will miss you.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I was very sad to hear about George, we were next door neighbours and he was my first friend. The last time I saw him he was quick to remind me that we had shared our first kiss, we were five... I’m pretty sure it was Susan and Pauline idea and then they teased us for years over it. My condolences to the family. Lucille - Posted by: Lucille Wilcott Canart (Childhood friend) on: Mar 08, 2020

  • I was sorry to hear of the tragic loss of George. He was always quick to say hello when he met someone he knew. God Bless and keep you George. - Posted by: Kelly Sharpe (Friend) on: Feb 26, 2020
