WILLIAM PETER ZAZULINSKI
July 12, 1949 - February 18, 2020

With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Peter, at his home, at the age of 70.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 48 years, Linda; daughter, Sheri (Kevin Pemkowski); grandchildren, Ryan (Chantal) and Emily. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Siatecki, Anne Senga, Connie (Roman Szczerba), Debbie (Jerry Hayduk); sisters-in-law, Elsie Zazulinski, Mary Gzegotski, Nancy (Ed Ratz); brother-in-law, Mike Olyarnick (Dolores); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Peter was predeceased by his parents, Pauline and John; in-laws, Teenie and Nick Olyarnick; infant sister, Emily; brothers, Gordie and Mike; brothers-in-law, John Siatecki, Mike Senga and Phillip Gzegotski; and sister-in-law, Irene Zazulinski.
Peter was born on July 12, 1949, and raised in Fraserwood, MB. He attended Devonshire School, and graduated from Gimli High School in 1968, just in time for the opening of the distillery, Calverts, where he spent 48 years as a cooker operator, retiring from Diageo in 2016.
Peter met Linda in high school, and they were married in 1971. When Sheri was born he adored her, but was a typical Dad of the time and stayed away from changing diapers! He cherished Ryan and Emily, and always looked forward to them coming for visits.
Peter was an outdoors man. In the 1970s he enjoyed playing on a local baseball team. He loved hunting for deer, moose, elk and geese, and he also enjoyed fishing. He went on many fly-in moose hunting trips every fall with his brothers, Mike and Gordie, close friend, Dave Pomarenski, and in later years, his son-in-law, Kevin. His other love was his Harley Davidson, which he refused to part with, even after being unable to drive it. Peter was one of the founding and lifelong members of the Dennis Lake Wildlife Association.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
I would like to thank neighbour, Allison Dann, for coming to help, calling 911, and staying with me. Thanks to all the paramedics for everything they did trying to save Peter. Also, thank you to Cst. Kevin Trefry for all his care and compassion. Thank you to all our family and friends for their visits, phone calls, and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Box 1292, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0.
