LORI JEAN RAWLIUK
(nee HARDING)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lori Jean Rawliuk after a courageous fight against cancer. She passed away February 22, 2020, at the age of 61.
She leaves to mourn her husband Gord, of 36 years, and her beloved son Thomas. She also leaves to mourn her siblings, David (Shelley), Ken (Phyl) and Jan (Guy); as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, and many friends.
She was predeceased by her sister Cindy and her parents, Don and Donna Marie.
Lori was born May 24, 1958, in Winnipeg. She attended Riverview Elementary School and graduated from Churchill High School. From there, Lori followed her passion for travel and adventure by becoming a travel agent. Through that experience she got to see much of the world, but she loved Hawaii the most and returned many times with her husband Gord. Lori loved going to her cabin at Black Sturgeon Lake with Gord and Thomas, and always invited many friends and family down to enjoy it with her.
Being around nature brought her much joy and she often returned to look at her photo collection, to remind her of that joy. When at home, Lori also loved baking and she never failed to miss the chance to bake for family events, year-round. She loved riding her bicycle and she became very adept at yoga and loved a good road trip to Gimli with 'the girls' for a shop and a fun lunch. She and Thomas loved spending time together and often made each other laugh. Lori would always say, "You got to laugh at life or life will laugh at you." Lori had a generous heart and always gave that little extra, when help was needed. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on March 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivary Boulevard.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre for their help in caring for Lori, with special thanks to the staff at CancerCare: Dr. Maksymiuk and Dr. Ahmed; and nurses, Maureen Donnelly, Makenzie Jansen and Tamara S.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I cannot express how deep my condolences are for you Gord and Tom and the Hardings. Lori was a true angel. She was kind and thoughtful. Funny and never judged anyone. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful she was. It was an honor and a blessing to have known her. - Posted by: Tannis Coleman (friend) on: Mar 05, 2020

  • Lori was one of the kindest people we had ever met, and we are deeply saddened by her passing. She was always inclusive at gatherings showing great compassion for anyone who might seem out of place. There are many great memories including watching her boot around on her motorcycle back in the 70s, working together all night at Chicken Delight and then partying until dawn - Oh the pie fights! Having fabulous weekends out at West Hawk lake. Doing the “modelling” shoot with Lori and friends. Very fond memories... Our deepest condolences go out to Gord, Thomas, Dave, Ken, Jan and the entire family. We loved Lori and will miss her very much. - Posted by: Vic and Carol Sparling (Brother in law) on: Feb 29, 2020

  • So sad to hear of Lori’s passing. She was our favorite travel agent! As a small agency, our office bought our tickets through Lori at Fort Richmond, Passages and Continental. Her lovely smile, a lovely person, we will miss Lori. Fond memories. - Posted by: Raymond et Nicole Lavergne (Our favorite travel agent) on: Feb 29, 2020
