PATRICIA BLAIS
1926 - 2020

Patricia Violet Blais passed away peacefully at Grace Hospital.
Born to the late Violet and Tom Cakebread in Minneapolis. She will be sorely missed by all those in whom she invested so greatly - her children, Lee and Marshall (Verna), grandchildren, Rolande (Jamie) and Marshall (Aimee), and great-grandchildren, Sophie, Elliot and Reid, making each feel really special for their uniqueness and each equally loved. She will also be missed by sister Barbara Stebbing, and brother-in-law Norman Blais.
Pat worked at the Canadian Wheat Board for a short period of time before taking up her fulltime job as wife to Gil and mother. Always a woman of style and grace, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother taught us the meaning of love, respect and family. We remember her gorgeous smile, incredible sense of humour and love of animals. The sadness of our loss is immeasurable. We take comfort in her legacy of generosity and kindness. She was one of a kind and a special soul. "She lived for those she loved and those she loved remember."
At Pat's request, she has been cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. She will be interred beside her husband Gil in Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat's memory can be made to Community Living Manitoba, 120 Maryland Street, Winnipeg, MB R3G 1L1, an organization that can make a difference to helping people with developmental disabilities.

"We are so lightly here, it is in love that we are made and in love we disappear"

- Leonard Cohen

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • So sad to hear about your mother. My parents Norm and Ann Anderson were very good friends and my middle name Patricia was given after your mom. I have very fond memories of your parents and you boys when we were young . I loved visiting your place and your mom and dad were always so kind to our family. Your mother was a beautiful person so kind and very easy to love. Acts 24:15 - until we meet again. - Posted by: Donna Anderson Shymko (Friend) on: Mar 13, 2020

  • My most sincere condolences to the Blais family on the passing of Marshal's mother. - Posted by: Eric Lusk (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2020
