SCOTT JAMES THOMAS GREIG

We are saddened to announce that Scott James Thomas Greig passed away on March 3, 2020.
He was born on August 22, 1980. He will be lovingly remembered by his Mom and Dad, Gwen and Richard. His beloved dog Fenway will feel his absence immensely. He is survived by his godmother Dawne Law, cousins, Lara Cliffe and family in Balmoral, Manitoba and Jim and family in Teulon. He will also be missed by his extended family and friends especially Susie Pilz.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Tom and Connie Cornthwaite, Jim and Peggy Greig, auntie Morag and uncles, Eddie and Alex in Scotland, also auntie Charlie and uncle Jim in Balmoral, MB.
Scott attended French Immersion at Bannatyne, Golden Gate and Silver Heights Schools and graduated from Westwood Collegiate. His love of music entered his life early, as he took piano lessons from Judy Ritchie and his dad. He started choral singing with his dad at St. John's Cathedral, and continued throughout his school years to sing under Debbie McLeod and Vic Hooper in the St. James Divisional Choirs. His love of band music, particularly the saxophone and the clarinet were fostered by Blaine Workman and Jim McKay, in junior and senior high schools. He continued his music in adult years as Baritone Section Head of the Choir at Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
His main interest was always the computer, either web page design or gaming, playing or designing. He loved movies and was a bank of information on the subject! He enjoyed reading, keeping up with current affairs and he was thoroughly up-to-date concerning his illness, medications and treatment.
Scott was a loving, considerate son and friend. The last few years of his life were very difficult, health wise, but he never gave up, remained positive and looked forward with fine-tuned sense of humour. He was a much loved son and friend.
The family wish to thank Dr. Jonathon Elkin, Dr. Leroy Storsely and all the kind folk associated in anyway with the dialysis unit of the Health Sciences Centre.
His funeral will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 256 Smith Street, Winnipeg, and church entrance on Donald Street doors.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Health Sciences Centre Foundation, PW112-700 William Avenue (referred to on cheque – Dialysis Nursing Trust), Winnipeg, R3G 0Z3, Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, R3T 0R3 or Holy Trinity Neighbourhood Ministry, 256 Smith Street, R3C 1K1 or to a charity of your choice.
