IRENE WORONIAK
Mom was born on June 11, 1932, in Hazelglen, MB, to Steve and Sophie Watsko. She was the youngest girl in a family of ten daughters and four sons and is survived by only one brother, Paul.
When Mom was eighteen she married our dad, Paul Woroniak, and settled down with him on the Woroniak homeplace, only one mile away from where she grew up. They lived and farmed there together most of their married lives, with the exception of twelve years spent in Transcona. They retired back to the farm and Mom continued to live there even after Dad's passing in 1990.
Mom was truly special. She was hard working, kindhearted and feisty, but her greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by us, her two daughters, Valery Kruger and Sharon (Wayne) Strong and our children, Heather (Victor) Tavares, Shannon Arruda, Tyler (Caitlin) Strong and Kelsey (Tony) Holme. Mom's great-grandchildren, Daniel, Taylor, Raffi, Jayla and Lincoln will forever miss their Babchi.
We want to thank all the wonderful staff at East Gate Lodge for their loving and compassionate care of Mom during her stay there.
Due to the current health crisis, we will hold a service to celebrate Mom's life at a later date. Notification of date and place will be published once determined.

Dear Sharon & family, There’s a special place in all of our hearts for our mothers, just like there’s a special place in every mother’s heart for her children. You must continue to carry her memory in that special place in your heart. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time. I am sincerely sorry for the loss of your mother Sharon. Sincerely, Shawn Nykoluk - Posted by: Shawn Nykoluk (Friend of the family) on: Mar 21, 2020
