MICHAEL TERRANCE ROY MCDONELL
January 28, 1949 - March 19, 2020

It is with a great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-uncle, brother-in-law on March 19, 2020, with his wife at his side when he passed.
Mike's greatest pride was his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Heather, and son, Cameron. He leaves behind many special friendships and numerous cousins.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Archibald Cameron (2002) and Theresa (1988).
Mike was a very kind and gentle person. He worked hard and enjoyed life in general. He worked at many different places, Triple E, Phoenix Lumber, automotive painting, North American Lumber and Faroex.
He was a very prosperous man, raised his family, building a life full of love, laughter and memories with them. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
You could count on him for a witty joke or some kind of gesture. Mike always took care of everybody else, especially with his favourite hobby which was woodworking, and making sure his family was looked after. Mike had a special saying he always used when feeling down, "Never leave a good man down."
A special thank you to the EMTs, R.C.M.P., special friend Peggy, and to Gilbart Funeral Home for their excellent care and hard work they did for Mike.
As per Mike's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life and interment will take place at a later date. It was his wish to be buried with his mother in Gimli.

Lost but not forgotten
Love you and miss you,
Heather and Cameron

  • I met my cousin, Mike, twice in my life. First, at age 1 or 2, which I only know of through pictures. My Mum tells me she thought I was misbehaving and gave a swat to the behind. Mike turned around somewhat shocked! I met him next & last, three years ago in Gimli when my wife and I drove up to visit. It was a very nice visit and met Heather as well. I truly wish I had the opportunity to know him better. I knew his father, Arch (my Dad's younger brother) quite well. I learned quite a bit about Mike from him, and I know Arch was proud of Mike and of Cameron. Rest in Peace, Mike, and God Bless. - Posted by: Ian McDONELL (Cousin) on: Apr 13, 2020
