ALPHONSE THEOPHILE FILLION
September 2, 1932 - March 21, 2020
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Yolande (née Boulet), his children, Roger (Marilyn), Rita (Wayne), Doris (David), Denise (Bill) and Rose-Marie (Jean-Michel); his 12 grandchildren, Ken (Tanis), Christina (Jon), Angela (Jason), Crystal, Micheal, Henri (Ashley), Amanda, Marianne, Daniel, Céline (André), Eric and Stéphanie; four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Caillie, Rayna and Desirae; his brother Origène (Marie-Lourdes); sisters, Soeur Marie-Antoinette and Yvette; along with many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents, Théophile and Marie-Ange (Dionne); his brothers, Mathias, George, Jacques-Emile, David, Hilaire; and his sisters, Brigitte, Rita and Priscille.
Alphonse was born on September 2, 1932, in St Jean-Baptiste, Manitoba. He was the sixth child of 12. Growing up, he resided in various southern communities. At the age of 21, he moved to Winnipeg. He worked for the St. Boniface Hospital for 35 years, where he met the love of his life.
He loved spending quality time with family, playing cards, and listening to music. He enjoyed playing baseball, bowling and watching sports on TV.
"You will forever be in our hearts. We love you dearly. When God saw you were getting tired, the Angels came calling and guided you to your eternal home. May you rest in peace."
A private service and burial was held for the immediate family. A Celebration of Life to be determined at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
