  • My deepest condolences to Jack's family . I worked with Jack in Quartermaster stores while in the P.S.B. We were teamed up as partners for a few years. Little did I know that this would be a turning point for me in my career . Jack's ability to teach policy and procedure , his ability to have a handle on "everything" was remarkable .He was respected throughout the ranks, as he was a wealth of knowledge & an all around good guy. I was extremely fortunate to have him as my mentor. We shared lots of laughter and good times during our years together & am a better person for knowing and working with him. My thoughts are with his family. - Posted by: Lee McDonald (co-worker) on: Apr 06, 2020

  • Lou, Cheryl and Family - my heart breaks for you all! Jack and I, for whatever reason, became really good friends with us meeting at MTS. The two of us just clicked and I loved my talks with him. I so miss spending 30 or more minutes messaging back and forth with him and getting my hugs when he came to visit me on my ramp before a Jets Game. My dear friend - you are missed more than words can say!! - Posted by: Sonia Feakes (Friend) on: Apr 01, 2020

  • We came to know Jack and Mary Lou through the Flames soccer team. Always smiling Jack was a srong supporter of the team. He organized and supervised many a hotel parking lot party at tournament away games. Always involved in young peoples sports we knew Jack best for was coaching girls hockey. He was a Pioneer in establishing female hockey teams in Winnipeg. My daughter always wanted to play hockey for Mr. Wiens. As the years passed and the girls grew up and moved on with their lives and our relationships faded we will always remember Jack Wiens was one of the good guys. Our thoughts are with Mary Lou, Cheryl and Jeff. - Posted by: Donna & Bob Foskett (Friend) on: Mar 28, 2020
