CECIL PATTERSON
passing on March 30, 2020.
He was predeceased by his mother
Elizabeth (Betty) Catherine Patterson (nee O'Donnell) in 1966, father Winston (Winnie) Wilbert Patterson in 1981, (twin) brother James (Jim) Joseph Patterson in 1978, and lastly his sister Joan Patterson (infant) in 1928.
Left to mourn his passing and forever
cherish his memory are his children, Kevin (Angie), Keith (Sandra), and Kathleen (Afif); grandchildren, Zacharia, Courtney, Youssef, Christian, and Shane; cousins, nieces, and
nephews too numerous to name.
I wish that we could all live a life with the wit and aplomb that dad possessed.
In light of the current health crisis and
governmental instructions regarding public gathering, the family will be holding a private service at a later date.
To remember our dad, please have a listen to one of his favourite songs by Jim Reeves, "Take My Hand, Precious Lord".

As an Air Canada colleague, I had the pleasure of working with Cec at YWG. He was always composed and even-tempered, no matter how trying the circumstances and you never knew when his dry wit would come to the fore! I extend my condolences to his family. I worked with Cec at Air Canada from 1973 until his retirement. There are so many stories of Cec's humorous interactions with passengers that could fill a book. After working with Cec for only 6 weeks, I was a victim of one of his gags. Just after I check-in an elderly couple traveling to Prestwick, who told me about their harrowing experience trying to get to the airport to catch their flight, Cec came over to me & said the following: "Ron I couldn't help but overhear the conversation you had with that elderly couple. Since you are new to the job, did you remember to mark POF on their boarding pass stubs"? " I said no". So I ran after the passengers & caught up to them at security & marked POF on their boarding passes. When I came back down to the check-in counter, a lot of the check-in agents were laughing at how I was just spoofed by Cec. I asked Cec what POF stands for & he told me "Poor old f*****". When our family lived in the Silver Heights community circa 1973 to 1986 in the former City of St.James MB, now part of Winnipeg, we got to know Cec and his family well with some of our children going to school and involved in Community Club activities together..a great guy and very involved..always a pleasant greeting and friendly smile.
