ROSE MARY (ROSE) PROKOPICH
February 10, 1934 - March 27, 2020

With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our mother. She will now join her soulmate and beloved husband of 66 years, Mike.
Mom was born in Regina, SK and was one of four children. She moved to the big city of Winnipeg and met the love of her life. Together they raised five children. Many a summer was spent in Steep Rock, MB along with all our cousins learning to waterski, Dad driving the boat and Mom making sure nobody went hungry. After our father retired Mom and Dad spent many years in Mesa, Arizona. After our mother lost her soulmate, Mom continued to travel to Mesa, AZ, to be with the many friends they had made over the years. Her favourite pastime was to go to the Adult Day Program where our mom made many friends at Holy Family Nursing Home, and also enjoyed many visits with her daughter Syndi. Whether it be going to her daughter Roxanne and Gary's house for their Annual Pig Roast or going on adventurous car rides with her daughter Rosanne (Carlo), one being to Steep Rock, to see the cabin that our dad had built, or spending time with our father's sister Millie and husband Ben, we tried to keep Mom as busy as we could.
Mom was predeceased by her soulmate Mike, her sister Mabel, her brother Johnny, and is survived by her sister Pauline, her daughters, Syndi (Graham), Sandra, Rosanne (Carlo), Roxanne (Gary), and her son Lorry (Brenda); also her grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Josh, Richard, Nadia, Nicholas and Anya.
Given current events around the globe there will be a private memorial burial for the family at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
Special thanks to her private home care workers, Shellie and Maria who showed her kindness and compassion throughout the years they looked after our mother.

Rest in Peace Mom, now that you and Dad
are together again, starting many new adventures.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Love you in life & in death, you are now free (literally) to be with our beloved Dad Mike! - Posted by: Roxanne Pohl (Daughter) on: Apr 04, 2020

  • I wish to extend heart felt condolences to all of Rose's family. I share in your sadness as you grieve the loss of your mother, grandmother , and special relative to many. These were roles she was so proud of and ones that brought her great pleasure. I have so may happy memories of the times my family and I spent in the company of Mike and Rosie. Christmas Eves at the Augustine farm were so memorable. The golf tournaments and barbecues at Elmhurst. were so much fun. It was always enjoyable to be in their company and I have a treasure chest of memories. Although she has gone, you, her family, will have the comfort of your own memories in the days, weeks, and months ahead. She led a full and happy life and will not be forgotten. Thinking of you all with sympathy at this difficult time. Shirley Augustine - Posted by: Shirley Augustine (family friend) on: Apr 04, 2020
