Peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2020, Erin Green passed away at the age of 57, after a courageous battle with early onset Alzheimer's Disease.
Erin will be lovingly remembered by her husband Lorne of 35 years; daughter Katie (Eric) and grandchildren, Lucas and Ivy. She is also survived by her mother Shirley and brother Ron (Leslie) as well as numerous extended family, friends and co-workers whom she cherished deeply. She was predeceased by her father Gordon and brother Doug.
Erin was born and raised in Winnipeg on May 3, 1962. She found her passion in her long-term career at Manitoba Hydro, where she began working at when she was 17. This would be where she met some of her best life-long friends. She was a woman of diverse interests. She loved camping, splitting wood, walking her beloved dog Molly in the back trails of Belair and most of all, visiting family. Then there was the Grand Forks shopping trips with McMuffins and Starbucks that will never be forgotten. Erin's retirement dream was to make Belair her and Lorne's forever home and to continue to travel, although cut short when diagnosed with dementia. Erin's smile continued to be contagious to all around her. Alzheimer's may have taken you from us too soon Mom, but will never take away our memories.
Her family would like to extend sincere appreciation for all the care and compassion, from the staff at Tudor House Care Home in Selkirk.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation at this time, a memorial service will be arranged at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • I am very sorry to hear of Erin's passage. I pray for her family that is left here on Earth. May she Rest In Peace in Heaven! We had been friends since elementary school. We were actually born a day apart at the very same hospital. We were very good friends in high school and hung out a lot together. The other interesting thing is that her daughter and my son were born on the same Day and Month but a few years apart. Miss you Erin! Love you so much! • My sincere condolences to Erin's family. I worked with Erin for several years and can attest to the person she was. Erin always had such a positive attitude and such a vast knowledge, that I know I counted on, on several occasions. I don't think I've ever seen her without a smile on her face, no matter what challenges were thrown at her. I remember running into Erin at a store in Selkirk and having her remember who I was. We had a short chat and I walked out of that store with a huge smile. Erin will be missed by many. - Posted by: Debbie Melnychuk (Co-worker) on: Apr 11, 2020
