ALBANO DO COUTO
January 28, 1945 - March 28, 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father Albano, on March 28, 2020, at the age of 75, after a short battle with cancer.
Remaining to forever cherish his memory are his children, Susie Phillips, Tony (Angela) Do Couto, Sandi (Brad) Saluk; grandchildren, Kyle, Evan, Logan, Marcus, Maia; and sister Olga Pacheco; along with numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Maria, grandson Mattiaus, mother Alcidia, father Mariano, sister Maria and brother Manuel.
He was born in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on January 28, 1945, and after serving time in the Portuguese Military, he moved to Winnipeg in 1972 to marry the love of his life, Maria, and start their family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was very hands-on in raising his children, a great provider, an amazing cook, a hard worker, a handyman, and was always willing to help his family and friends. He had a passion for animals, gardening and enjoyed napping.
A sincere heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and Middlechurch Home. Your kindness and care for our father will never be forgotten.
Due to the recent events that we're all facing in the world today, a private service for immediate family was held on Friday, April 3, 2020, at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, with Monsignor Maurice Comeault.

"May your soul rest in peace Dad".
