ALLEN BODNER
August 12, 1944 - April 5, 2020

Al passed away peacefully on April 5, 2020.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years, Colleen; daughter Nancy (Marc); sister Irene (Rick); sister in law Joani, brother-in-law Howie, and nieces and nephews, Holly (Perry), Lorne (Kelly), April, Carla (Luciano) and Kenton. Al was predeceased by his daughter Angela, parents, Mary and Andrew, sister-in -law Lona and brother-in-law David.
Al was born in Winnipeg on August 12, 1944 and grew up on the family farm in Kirkness. He started farming at age 12 and was still farming at age 75. He was a choir boy at Immaculate Conception Church. He attended Melrose School, Springfield Collegiate Institute and the University of Manitoba. He took over running the farm when his father was no longer able.
Al and Colleen were married on June 10, 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church. They lived in Winnipeg and had two daughters.
Al later worked as a salesman for a steel building firm. He took over the franchise and added a home improvement division. In 1985 he decided to go back to farming full time.
Al liked to have breakfast in Oakbank with his farm buddies every morning. He enjoyed family get togethers, meeting friends for coffee and meals, watching sports, tractor club meetings and his John Deere machinery.
We wish to thank the E5 staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their kind and professional care.
Cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Boniface Hospital would be appreciated.
