(BUSCH)
November 11, 1935 - April 13, 2020
Eunice "Uni" Mildred Susan Hayes (Busch) was born on November 11, 1935, to Jacob (Jack) Busch and Susanna Busch (Hautz) in Eriksdale, Manitoba, the 10th of 14 children. She passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on April 13, 2020.
Uni is survived by: son Richard (Carol), daughter Katherine (Liz), son Robert (Shelley), granddaughters, Hayley and Freya, grandsons, Kris (Christy), Rick (Tanya) and Jason, great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Isaiah, and Abby, and her siblings, Beatrice Boutilier, Nancy Heinkel and Gilbert Busch.
Uni was predeceased by her husband Robert "Bob" Hayes less than three months ago, as well as by her young son Gary in 1968, and 10 siblings.
Uni often spoke of the wonderful times she had as a girl growing up on farms in Camper and Ashern, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg in 1951 with her sister Beatrice. She met the love of her life, Robert Hayes at the downtown roller rink. They married on June 16, 1956.
Uni was an avid bridge and mahjong player and loved travelling, socializing, doting on her grandchildren, and spending summers at the cottage with family at Deighton Beach. She loved the music of Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, and especially ABBA. She will always be the "Dancing Queen" to her family. She was a fierce animal lover, stopping at nothing to save butterflies, bees, squirrels, chipmunks, cats; anything in need. Uni was a kind soul, with twinkling green eyes, a generous smile and infectious laugh, who made friends in the time an elevator could reach the second floor. She was deeply loved by her family and will be profoundly missed.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

I met your Mom in 1989 when my husband introduced me to the club he was a member of. The Manitoba Live Steamers. She was such a sweet lady. We traveled to "meets" in the States. Happy hour was always a riot with your mom and dad and the other Hayes. Your mom had the most infectious laugh. I am sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom and Dad. Take some comfort in knowing they are together again. My sincere condolences. Bonnie Brown - Posted by: Bonnie Brown (Friend from Manitoba Live Steamers) on: Apr 20, 2020
